Simone Drago, Art Director, São Paulo 2012
» In over two decades working as an art director in advertising – and the last also as web designer – I met and worked with many great photographers from fashion, editorial, still, journalism, and of course, advertising both in Brazil and abroad (Patrick Demarchelier, Mario Testino , among others). Here in Brazil we have great talent and big names, and become great friends with certainty (Bob Wolfenson, Willy Biondani, Alexandre Catan, Cassio Vasconcelos, Fernando Laszlo, Marcos Villas-Boas, Maurício Nahas, Gui Paganini, Claudio Elizabetsky, among others that would make a huge list). But it was during a targeted search in Google for references of a job for a client on web that I found Yannik Steer, an Austrian photographer, straight from Vienna, whose photo fit perfectly for what we needed. My client, also enchanted, approved and then initiated the contact. Can we expect any surprises coming from professionals in web searches, a territory where the information can be credible or not, and negotiations that can disappear into the black hole of the web. But Yannik proved, besides the surprise I have found here so far, to be extremely professional and not at all arrogant. His portfolio with very European accents features pictures of fashion, lifestyle, travel, people, artists, collaborator of light and scene, almost a filmmaker. Like all great professionals he showed no hindrance – or arrogance – in the use and sale of their image, quite the contrary, he did business and was very grateful and happy with the possibility to show his work here in the tropics. Everything went very right and this post is dedicated to disseminate his work here, because if there’s one thing that I find important in the corporate world, it is the professionalism, talent, love and dedication for the work that one does in their expertise without creating crises or major problems, and to find a solution and always a happy ending for all parties involved. Best regards and welcome to Brazil, Yannik Steer!«
